Hi to all,

I’m Dutch developer ‘bartsidee’, my profession is app developer/designer and I make/support boxee apps in my spare time. I’ve been part of the boxee community since late 2010 and haven’t left since. I always try to support people and other devs in making boxee a better and greater platform. That’s why you usually find me on the boxee forums.

Companies that want to deploy on boxee are welcome to ask for advice regarding boxee API, technical issues or a full technical and/or UI design. I have a track record that includes for example names like Grooveshark and AOL.

If you have any suggestions or ideas for new apps or improvements feel free to contact me.

Further if there are any issues regarding the content my apps deliver please contact me about it and we can discuss this.

      My main focus is to bring free to watch web shows to boxee, although technically possible I will not add Amazon VoD for this reason.

    I just joind bartsidee today :) im happy as a bugger!!!

    Im in Sweden so the swedish playchannels are great :) one i miss is tv4play.

    Now is this all free? Im going to do the 3rd paypal option donation in a few hours ;)

    But is this all for free?

    Hey Bart, still very happy with your work, altough Boxee is letting us down a bit. I was wondering as I also have XMBC runnin here, is there a lot of difference in code beween Boxee and XMBC ?
    There is a very nice addin for XMBC, but is suffering from DRM blockade’s.
    I know you are a Boxee guy, but maybe you might have an answer to this.

      Hi Alexander, boxee is originally a fork of xbmc. So they are very much a like. Not sure what your problem is , but you can email it if you want.

      Sorry Eggie,

      It has been asked indeed numerous times. But RTL XL makes use of silverlight and some special DRM techniques. It is a small miracle to get the current streams working which are in fact based on a feed not originating from rtl xl website.

    I’m a noob about the boxee box. I just got today my boxee box, and I am very happy, but I have a problem, I am trying to add your repo in my boxee box connect it into my TV without success. I get a message in my TV: “ERROR Could not get repository information. Make sure the URL…..”

    Could you please help me?

    Hey bartsidee. Tnx for your work I almost regraded that I bought a boxee box. How ever I think I will onley use your internet radio app.

    And If you you know more Repositories and want to share them….

    Hallo Bart,

    Enige tijd geleden maakte ik gebruik van de beta versie van navi X. maar ik kan deze versie niet meer vinden. Bij het googelen kwam ik jou naam tegen als ontwikkelaar bij Navi X. weet jij of de beta versie nog draait. Wat voor mij belangrijk is de ondertiteling toe te kunnen voegen?

    Hi Bart. Now that boxer box is officially no longer supported. I checked out the open source community’s updated called “boxee+”. I was wondering if this helps with bringing a hulu and hulu plus channel.

    Also if this repository is still supported.

      Hi Michiel,

      As you might understand because of EOL status of boxee and my busy daytime job I have very limited time at hand. Support therefor at the moment is mostly keeping everything up and running. Unfortunately I do not expect to make new application. Still anyone can grab the source code and build a Hulu/hulu plus app. It is definitely possible from a technical perspective.
